na but you should use a diesel additive in the fuel in any case if you dont to winns edt or flashlube is for old japanese diesel or you will have huge repair bills sooner or later from broken injection system components.

reason for idle up can be a knob or switch to rais idle or you turnedon- off the aircon

bolocks. my 88 safari has been running fine on straight desiel . and my old tractors have done 1000's of hours on straight desiel , no problems

25oo rpm idles not bad when cold but idles high when warm

It could be air in the lines - particularly If there's any white smoke, or roughness in the idle when it's at low speed.
