Probabbly the people whom sell them! or central heating places or your probably better off to fix it your self
What is the symptoms!

Symptoms are. Not igning properly and blowing copiously amounts of diesel smoke out the front, instead of clean fired heat.

We've pulled it apart a few times before when this has happened and cleaned the interior with compressed air and wiped the "magic eye sensor" clean etc .

you would need to make sure the thing has a fuelfilter and gets clean fuel they are almost like a diesel engine just that nothing gets compressed just evaporated. The nozzle would be the problem of bad burning . ultrasonic cleaner would be required to clean the nozzle or a new nozzle . Also Diesel injector cleaner can work in cleaning the nozzle if it is carbon buildup

Excellent advice . Thank you intrade.

Will look into it tomorrow. Many thanks. What you have said makes sense.

I service various brands of these heaters, your problem will be in the compressor mounted at the back of the heater, the first thing I do when repairing is strip the compressor, removing all components as well as the steel ring around the rotor, clean the parts with a dry rag, reface the vanes then reassemble, don't use any sealants or oils, check the air and fuel lines for leaks, check the fuel filter, remove and clean the fuel nozzle and spark plug, re gap to 2.5mm then reassemble, if you have a low pressure gauge install it in the compressor cover and adjust the air pressure to the setting which is usually listed on the name plate, somewhere between.3 and .5 bar, if no gauge then slowly adjust the pressure until the front cone glows with a slight tinge of grey at the centre, stand in front and see if you can detect any fumes, the fuel nozzle is seldom the problem but you can unscrew the cap and make sure the fluted cone is clean
