likely the Heater control tap has seized in the closed position, happened to mine, and most other E36s too.
Easy to replace but tricky to get at (in the 6 cyl); second hand ones are easy to come by, but I'd recommend new as used ones are likely to be stuffed or on their last legs. New ones are pricey though.

Heater control tap needs replacing, as foto-gifts said. Tried fixing my sons, gave up a bought a new one. All better now.

thanks guys got a heater the Heater control tap had seized in the closed position all the rubbers were fuck so gutted it out lol now ive got hot haha
