Ok so no failure of seals what are you driving! and how long have you been running this stuff in your diesel !

scoobeey, Oct 16, 2:55am
2c toyota wagon and been running for quite a while now.50ml to a tank. :)

splinter67, Oct 16, 4:38am
Is it a corona if so the seals are only $50 and only $110 fitted real easy to fit just so you know not quite so expensive. How long have you had it !

kingfisher21, Oct 16, 5:13am
Snake oil, i've been running my Safari diesel on, ohhh, guess what, straight pump diesel for 10 years and well over 200,000km without any pump or injector problems what so ever.

chebry, Oct 16, 7:21am
Like the rest of us do everything wears out eventually thats called maintenance my car got a brand new injector pump thanks to a clumsy diesel specialist at his expense it only needed seals but clown boy dropped it but a seal kit if you already have the cambelt off isnt a big deal, pretty much the same pump a Toyota uses on it 2C basic Bosch so you naysayers about the horrible expensive to repair injector pumps go away its not rocket science and its not expensive unless you get a specialist involved they will find problems and bluff you with werds you cant understand but an older guy at a gas station told me those are easy he had a Corona at 730,000kms hed done pump seals a couple of times no big deal Why would I waste endless $$$ on potions noone uses to better these results.

geminidragon, Oct 16, 6:24pm
ive heard the diesel we use now does not lube the injector pump hense the need for additive ,but i guess its debatable ,each to there own :)

splinter67, Oct 16, 7:29pm
Its supposed not to lube the seals if you have a post 2003 diesel it has the new seals in it that are for low sulpher dieseland your wasting your time if its pre 2003 the seals would have been done by now or they are fine

geminidragon, Oct 17, 1:59am
so are you saying diesels prior to 2003 dont need additive

splinter67, Oct 17, 2:04am
if they arnt leaking you dont need to replace the seals they probably already been changed to new seals that are suited to low sulpher diesel so yes Im saying deisels dont need additives in there fuel

splinter67, Oct 17, 3:36am
Strange this no clue thats strange you and the vw salesman are the only ones promoting this crap you have no idea what you are talking about
Why is there a truck thats had no crap put in its tanks got 2 mill ks on it and still got original seals have you got anywhere that recommends it that isn't the company making it

geminidragon, Oct 17, 4:03am
well all i can say is that since i started using wynns edtin my 96 izuzu bighorn 3.1 turbo diesel with 329000 kms on the clock it is running the best and smoothest it has ever run ,it is currently running 60mls to 75 litres of diesel ,it says it cleans the injectors etc .i am not promoting the stuff but it seems to have made a difference so like i say each to there own i will be filling up next on gull diesel max which is 5% biofuel mix ,just to give the pump extra lubrication

intrade, Oct 17, 4:11am

splinter67, Oct 17, 4:12am
Im glad it works for you why did you start using it!

intrade, Oct 17, 4:16am
read that pdf newzealand is knowen for crap fuel and marsdenpoint is not upgraded as far as i knowremoving high content of sulfer also makes diesel even more dry , there was a link from nz government where it was written new seals last 7 years.if you use flashlube your seals will be ok in 50 years still but hey i sould be happy more broken diesel more work.

intrade, Oct 17, 4:20am
i only use gull and caltex diesel. dont know what techron is but if its a lube then it be already saving the diesel injection system.

splinter67, Oct 17, 4:26am
You might want to re read that especially at the bottom of page 2 great own goal

geminidragon, Oct 17, 4:30am
research

intrade, Oct 17, 4:31am
Now if you did read the pdf above fully you can see what the problem is and the reason why it is hit and miss is not all crude oil is equal some has verry high sulfur and therfor loads more hydrogen is used especially in a plant like marsdenpoint that is outdated , resulting in a mutch dryer diesel sold to you if your out of luck and nuking your injector pump . Unless you happen to be adding flashlube chemtech winns edt to make this fuel lubricating enough so no damage occures. You wont be able to proof that there fuel destroyed your pump but you can prevent it from happening and the winns and flashlube claim to prevent seal shrinkage another bonus.plus they keep injectors lubed , dont know if it lowers fuelconsumption or not as claimed on some of the additives i mentioned . but you just need it fo in case you get a bad batch of fuel with insufficient lube

intrade, Oct 17, 4:32am
Dont forget this is made by bp that document they claim there fuel is always meeting the lurication they be sued in a flash if they did not say so.

intrade, Oct 17, 4:37am
2 main problems with ulsd -ultra low sulfur diesel
1 is its potential to be not lubricating enough
and 2 is the potential to cause corrosion, thats another issue i have not figured why but i researched and some sources think crosscontermination with etanol in ulsd diesl caused fueltanks to rust, and they will also rust your injectorpump and injectors if you get that fuel thru it.
having said all this we cant go back to high sulfur fuel as the new diesel with catalitic converter and diesel filter cant tolerate high sulfur fuels. its a bit like when they changed from leaded to unleaded fuel . people where also in denail about valvseat-ressesion.

geminidragon, Oct 17, 4:39am
How does Gull Diesel Max make fuel flow smoother!
The 5% bio diesel in Gull Diesel Max improves the diesel??

splinter67, Oct 17, 5:51am
you guys believe what you want keep wasting your money good luck to ya can I sell ya some dirt on the moon on special this week only
