Where/what's a good source for finding .

used roller ball bearings - the complete thing . not just a steel ball. Size around 20 - 30mm hole in the middle. I need around 16 to 20 of them all the same size. Needed for some DIY Machinery moving skate/dolly thingies.

One imagines that you would have to fluke some sort of hoarder as there is usually only one place that used/stuffed bearing wind up, and that's in the rubbish.

Yeah.Every neighbourhood seems to have at least one eccentric bloke, with an oil soaked property full of his "treasures".

Why not just buy low grade bearings new!

Go to your local wrecker.tell him you'll buy his lunch every day if he'll let you rummage around down the back til you've got what you want.

try a local industrial rewinder, Electric mtr of around 25-50 kw should have that sort of size, they are normally one size bigger on the driven end but if they are cleaning a couple of moters a week their steel scrap bin might help. Our local recycle centre had old shopping trolleys for a fiver each. I got 4 of them, wish i grabbed the lot now. The 4V and auto is sitting on a cut down one but I widened an old trolley jackfor the heavy Ram mtr and box.

dunno if Id go that way, bearings used as wheels catch & stop dead on every little grain of crap on the floor.

snoopy221, Oct 22, 1:44am
Yip. can't ya put ya horse on it and !Giddy-up!

Angle iron frames to sit on the concrete and run ya bearings in.
From ya pics i'd personaly suggest a Tele-Handler.
