Yeah I am calling it crap.
actually did ring the dealership and when I asked about a Mitzi doing 900ks the guy on the other end just started laughing.he's probably still laughing now

kiwirod, Oct 24, 4:23am
If you did know anything about driving then you would know just how tiring it can be, oh and my 500ks a day didn't include stopping and starting or having breaks. So i can imagine someone driving nearly 850ks 7 days a week, week in/week/out would get very tired.but you probably know all of that anyway

Ping the rego number in to carjam and post the link here.

Sydney taxis average 1000kms per day but they are on the road 24/7/365 are never get cold and run on LPG they also have low compression engines and heavy duty suspension to cope with being constantly driven a Mitsu doing similar mileage I dont think so

splinter67, Oct 24, 4:37am
thats an ugly run rather you than me

clairbell, Oct 24, 4:39am
Already thought of that. Will go have a look after tea

Im not saying it cant be done but in three years is almost a physical impossibility doing 822ks per day with no servicing hell I want a car like that

kiwirod, Oct 24, 4:47am
Yeah it was, sadly I saw about 5 fatal accidents over a 2 year period driving through Pukerua Bay area .Very much doubt I could have driven 800ks every day and I love to drive.

jmma, Oct 24, 4:50am
I agree, I think he put one to many 0000000000000000's(o:

splinter67, Oct 24, 5:07am
how to win friends and influence people not as you obviously know more about being a courier than you do about cars I would give up now if I where you

tuttyclan, Oct 24, 5:17am
And its only driven around the airport(no highway cruizing)(but run hot all of the time),4km almost constant return trips to airport terminal and back to base 24-7.Usually has 3 different drivers over a 24 hour period.

clairbell, Oct 24, 7:36am
Got my story wrong. It was over five years. Number plate AMP726 check it on car jam. Still a very good effort

clairbell, Oct 24, 7:37am
Well done mate. It is a garage not a dealership.

Not saying its true, not saying its not. However I done a job where i drove 875kms a day. 935 if I had to go back to the start point, which I had to do sometimes. Started at 1am and home at 11.30 12am. That run was done every day (in a ute) 365 days a year unless the roads were blocked. It was shared between two drivers though. It was bloody hard work and left ya knackerd on ya days off. Not the driving but the hours it was done. Plays havoc with ya body clock. There were two utes if one needed servicing or broke down.
So those kinda KMs can be done but for one person to do it would be some effort. And the ute never really broke down at all as it was all hot running I guess. You only shut it off for about half an hour in that time.
And they never actaully got to 900000 as they replaced them before that.
As for a normal person getting car srvice etc I guess youd have to double ya KMs the next day LOL.

I would assume the car was driven mostly through the South Island.Did the guy actually go home everynight or did he stop somewhere and carry on the next day.The South Island has beautiful roads compared to the North Island and I would not think there was anything to mentally wrong with him,he must of just simply loved driving and had no dependents and made the most of his retirement touring the countryside even if it was multiple times over and over. The only thing that must have cost a lot for the fuel and wear and tear on the car.Personally I would have travelled around the world and done some roadtrips overseas as well as here but good on him for keeping in New Zealand. So is the car still running well today and what about the driver is he ok.
