Been a while since someone has clocked a tree like that.

The windscreen on this fell out when it hit the tree and then landed on the road perfectly intact lol. There was more carnage today than I've seen all season. Ambulance was busy, radios never shut up with people trying to get onto the track either. Might post a couple vids later.

that looks like some impact!

Where was that place! Looks like there are some nice potential 4WD tracks.

Waiuku Forest. Dirt Track Club sprints.

pollymay, Oct 31, 6:34pm
^that

Waiuku/otaua forest. They have been shutting out 4wds since one came in with railway irons welded to the front and started taking out fencelines as they pleased, pretty sure that's what Peter said. Think the motorbikes are shut out now to for all the issues caused by idiots. Lots of horse tracks though.

You're such a rice boy, suggesting that anything could possibly beat a HOLDEN.

Yip and the car was ROOTED

treachug, Oct 31, 11:59pm
Wonder if they took it away or LEAFED it there to ROT!

Is that the Acheson Corvair VW and the old Chip Adams Modified!

pollymay, Nov 2, 2:36am
The corvair VW is quite distinctive, it's been around yonks from what I've heard from way back and hangs round puke car club to. The modified V8 I know is a modified. Chrysler 318 if I'm right and it's driven by rattrie, dunno if I spelt that right. Used to be a couple of them but they've met their various ends and I'm not totally clued up on each one. That one crashed at codlin/holmes road waiuku quite badly but they fixed it.

He drives that VW very well to, good yardstick for the kinda times you should be doing at any one time. Seems to handle a lot better than my prelude which understeers like a pig.

Song comes to mind "Saw a sign for a stockcar race."

Thanks for that Pollymay,
Used to belong to the WDTC so seeing those 2 machines still going was good. Vw was built originally by someone Bremmer I think and the Mod was built around 88/89 and has competed and finished 1st time out in the Leadfoot 100 which many still haven't managed to do and it was with a very very tired 318 V8. Just a little history for you.
