If it has deployed then you more than likely have to replace the airbagand the SRS computer as well. If your D22 has Pretension seatbelts then they may of deployed as too.
To change the airbag disconnect the battery. There will be 2 or 3 plastic covers on the steering wheel, remove those to expose the bolts and use a T20 or T50 Torx bit to undo the bolts. Unplug the airbag module. Get your new or 2nd hand airbag Put it back in :)

Hi centre of steering wheel was squeaking went to lubricate it,just came off and nothing behind.

You do relaize you prob didnt hit the sensor, as i went straight onto a lamppost at around 60km when icy and mine didnt pop, missed it by 2mm

was the air bag light on! if it was then you should have thought about it befor you brought it. Are you sure it has an airbag!

What sensor are you talking about! The sensor is a control module that generally sits inside the cable on or near the firewall.
