what is needed and what does it cost these days, I know bike rego sky rocketed for bigger bikes but what about commuters! anyone had one done! bike currently has no plate at all, just wondering if its worth while buying.

Two things you need,proof of prior registration in nz and proof of ownership.Year of first rego determines if you need a brake dec done,after 1991 you will need one.Around $180 for inspection but prices vary,not sure of rego cost but will be a minimum of 6 months.

Its not hard to do at all. Your costs will be an inspection fee of around $180 depending on where you go, and 6 months rego or so.
I did it recently on a 1000cc bike and it cost around $500 all up
