well to start the gearbox needs to come out and pulled apart then i guess they would need to go from there

If its a good one and has a good diff. Will bring price down a little but don't forget to allow for new trans fluid etc

Subaru Automatic transmissions don't have center diffs. get another opinion.
Perhaps you could start by describing the fault

suplyuparts, Nov 8, 9:53am
is it 4wd or fwd.!.centre diff sits inside the gearbox. The gearbox you got,do you know if its the same one in the car,!i.e model numbers.!.coz the rear diff would need to be the same as the box.

have they tryed putting some additives in it first!

It feels like the power steering has gone on it amd when reversing it kind of clonks if that makes sense lol

its awd btw

Don't get it fixed, its usually just dirty transmission fluids, so do a trans oil and diff oil change and put some trans additives in the diff and the auto.Take the car out and do figure 8's in a carpark both forwards and backwards and it should clear up.Have had 3 subarus with this problem, 1 really bad and fixed it with fluids change and Wynns additives.
