Avoid cars with 3 diamonds on the front, run for the hills!, unless you want to keep your mechanic wealthy

Reasonable price for what it is but you'd want to know if it was GDI or not. I'm always suspicious when an engine photo is missing when these are for sale.

It's a good price for a Pajero. But, it's at an age where it should be avoided. I would only buy it as a toy for off road use despite its fat arse (crap departure angle). Also keep in mind, if its GDi engine starts to play up, it will drain your wallet really quickly.

Ahh ok then we have a budget or $7 K , whats a nice looking low maintence car ! We like the mazda6 but very overpriced , whats the next best! We were thinking 4wd but dont know alot about them

If you like the Mazda 6, have a look at a Mondeo (2003 +), it's just about the same car. But, there are many other good cars in the $7k range.

If you don't know a lot about 4wds, then avoid anything that's within your price range. They are simply too old for that kind of money.

However, if you sell those two cars you have listed, you can get a Toyota Landcruiser Prado. The one that has a 4.0 litre V6.

Regarding the mondeo 2003+ , should be looking at auto or manual , the v6 version or 2L !

Just beware of rust especially around the rear,if you can pull the rubber rear door seal away and have a look around the pinch seam, usual place to find it.

Great ! There is a Mondeo 2003 wagon manual at turners auction , 310000 kms , estimate 1900 to 2800 , maybe OK !

I bought a 2004 Mondeo 2.0 5spd wagon done 398,000kms at turners for $2200 and it was probably the best bargain car I've got in my life. Ran like clockwork and other than stone chips and some wear on the carpets you didn't know it had done that many kms - was all open road hot running.

If going for a Mondeo go for the 2004-2006 model years, or late 2003 if it's a facelift model (trangular fog lamps instead of circular ones). Definitely go for a manual over the automatic if 4cyl, the 6cyl autos seem to be better suited than the 4cyl.
