I owned a 2,2 mazda petrol. Worse on gas than my falcon wagon. Wayy Less power so was always putting the boot in to get anywhere. Then we got a 2.5 bounty turbo diesel. Cheaper to run but it owed us to much money.If you are looking at a petrol ute in that range they will use just as much gas if not more than a falcon. Just my 2c having owned both.
