The 86 is a nice car and all, but it needs more power. What's the point of it really if a base model Commodore can beat it in a drag race!

What is the point owning walkinshaw VL when it can be blown away by the late Denny Hulmes Scania race truck. Wasted and the car was blowing smoke at the end lap, bring on the BMW.

Base model commodores are a lot slower than an 86 in a straight line too, I suspect Petal knows this, and trolled you all quite well.

You wont find an EJ20 in any Toyota 86, Subaru BRZ or any Subaru from the last 5 years for that matter.

I couldn't care that a base model commodore is faster is a straight line, its not about how fast a car goes, its about the fun you can have driving. If a car slides everywhere and cannot accelerate but you have a great time giving it the jandal then its a great car. The motoring press unanimously agrees that the toyota 86 achieves this.
Drag races are for bogans.

Phil. The engine maybe called a 4U-GSE or a FA20 but the manifold bolt patterns for exhaust and inlet are the same as EJ20 as far as my tape messure tell me. So plenty of bolt on mods for them. Apart from the big D4 on the engine cover the first thing I thought when I poped the bonnet on the ones here at work was Legacy.
