Yes I will pipe up!
Whats interesting is you have taken 2 random times and compared them, there have been STANDARD road car R35 GTR's go around there at 2m25 without really trying that hard, what VY Taxi are you referring to, that Mal Rose car! that looks to be an $500,000 purpose built V8SC race car that they have purchased second hand to me lol, also here is a very mildly modified R35 GTR pulling a casual 2m15 haha: http://www.youtube.com/watch!v=dVPrR0HXqDE

splinter67, Feb 11, 3:33pm
Casual my arse jeeze ollie you are a numpty of the highest class here is a cut and paste of what was written underneath your youtube clip

Croydon Racing Developments built, prepared & custom dyno tuned Nissan GTR R35 at Mt Panorama, Bathurst for the 2011 Drive Bathurst event.

The 400kW Nissan GTR R35 lapped the famous mountain in a unbelievable time of 2min15.07sec with the factory Nissan engine & turbo chargers, custom CRD exhaust system, Bilstein coilover suspension, safety roll cage & tuning by Croydon Racing Developments via a COBB AccessPORT.

Visit us at www.teamcrd.com.au for more information.

Mildly modified thats the biggest laugh yet

Did you not read what I wrote and whats done to that GTR properly then just type before thinking or are you actually just a complete and utter imbecile!
I know whats been done to the vehicle you numpty that is why I said what I said!
'Factory standard motor and turbos'!, with VERY mild mods, the main ones which are all simple bolt on include injectors, intercoolers, intakes and exhaust then with a factory ECU re tune they gain around 100kw at the wheels then that combined with the obvious racing mods like rollcage, race spec coilovers, brake pads & tyres, a few other little tweaks/set up tricks then add a good driver and you are shown what a proper car can do!
Go get any of the latest special Falcodores do the same level of mods and if it goes under what a standard road car R35 GTR does I will eat my hat lol probably wont even get close to it!

1ollie. not really comparing apples with apples is it. a car that can turn one hot lap versus cars that have been built to do those times over a period of 12 hours.

1ollie, Feb 11, 8:38pm
esprit. you are right but my original post was aimed at what hi-ling said as he just had not taken much other than that part for his little dig and then my second post at what sphincter67 said, but yes that is the main point of the thread so you have a good point. But still it would not need massive changes but yes you would have to upgrade a few parts in the rear trans-axle, add a few coolers and upgrade the braking system for 12hour.

1ollie, Feb 11, 10:19pm
Haha owww wah wah sphincter67 now your on to your next attempt since you have no comeback after your last dribble got squashed lol, yeah facts like I provided! or your type of facts!. being you quoting makes an models but leaving out any facts at all like even simple basics which a 10 year old fan could point out like whats been done to the car and who was driving! haha ohh god

splinter67, Feb 11, 10:35pm

No Im not the only one that knows your a numpty. Can ya pos beat an astra no is the only answer you have don't say yes because it cant have a look at the results from sundays race

1ollie, Feb 12, 2:59am
There you go again more proof haha
1: You are one of many that thinks something of me yet you are an imbecile as I said before(google search it to get the meaning because you clearly have no idea hahahaha) so what you say does not really effect me but its funny to wind you up, 2: Numpty is not a real word, 3: Yes it beat the GTR but is it a win worth talking about or being proud of! lol no not when your fastest lap time is over 15seconds slower and you have no other info about why! and did it beat it last year! don't think it did and who cares over all really!

Yep it is widely considered one of if not the best touring car series in the world. And as far as close racing and close competition goes I agree that it is the best series full stop. A european DTM driver is joining the series this year and he says they are jealous of how close the racing is in the series.

And you guys who keep banging on about how you want the old days back where they raced production cars. Are you kidding or what! Do you realise how much slower they would be! And the fastest car would win every time. The whole point of making the cars the same is so that the fastest driver wins, not the fastest car.

This year is going to be huge for the series, I can't wait!

rob_man, Feb 13, 1:00am
I see it as a three way split between the driver, the car and the team's expertise in choosing things like which components to run with and tyres to use etc. If the fastest car/driver combination wins then somebody has done their job properly and set a benchmark for others to strive for.
I guess that can get a bit confusing though eh, far better to be told what to do in case you do it better than the others.
