That apparently is in the dream pipeline by the owner (my son).
Keeping it running as cheaply as reasonable for now is the main trick.

Suggestions for whats the best fluids for soaking & cleaning the stripped lifters.

Supercheap/ repco /bnt etc

I'am back.
Right . oil out/ sump off & cleaned
Oil pick up third clogged with carbon
Now teh tricky bit.

How much oil to put back in.
The dipstick is telling me it's 2 liters, but that can't be right & certainly not on a turbo petrol.

Can't find anything directly about oil capacity on Google.

pretty sure its 3.75 litres or there abouts including filter

Yep the only info I can find is for similar age but 2ltr & at 3.7 liters.
Spotted the main part of the error late this afternoon which was that the plastic plug on the dipstick had slipped up the shaft
Going to weld a washer on it later after we re-mark it with a "borrowed" Mazda Familia dipstick.
Stuck 3.5ltr in it & it's sitting about right for now.
Thanks for confirming what you know.

Tappets all good for now.
Car running better.

LMAO . I LOVE my flush mix, works everytime.

This mix is slightly harsher then my std mix because this is some left over from diesel/petrol fuel garage stuff ups.

2liter of diesel fuel/ 2 liter of std 20/40 clean oil.
The Mazda ended up with 2 liter of 20/40 oil & 1 liter of diesel/petrol mix because of the uncertain dipstick level issue.
Mostly left it to idle with a few gentle lifts in the revs until it was full temp
