Why are on road costs when purchasing a car from a dealer/trader ,still so high when rego costs have just plummeted?

brand new or second hand?
brad new will still have all the compliance costs.

second hand cars will often come with other things that ar done upon sale to ready it for the new owner like oil and filter change, top up fluids etc (depending on dealer)

and things like getting it cleaned inside and out etc.

Regardless of if the ORC is paid by the dealer or charged to the customer they are a fixed price cost for each vehicle and are on average $130 more than just paying ongoing rego costs for a car for 6 months.
That said YEP rego costs WILL drop as at 1.7.15 but any registration done before then-(even though it includes that period) is at the current rate.
I regod a fresh import demio today for 6 months and it cost $291.39
Next wendsday I think it drops by $100
keep in mind too-even as at 1.7.15 --delers have to update their advertising to reflect the reduced rate.-with some having 100 or so cars it can take awhile.
