disagree regarding English vans, have had one for a while, have travelled some rough roads and hasn't fallen apart. and one dealer I know said not to buy one, now stocks and sells them

Sorry but that means nought. A dealer needs stock and they can import from UK cheap.

I've seen what happens with English caravans on several episodes of Top Gear.

remember to check bed size before you buy - english units have beds designed for cornish miners and hobbits - some kiwi ones are almost as bad.we have a genuine queen size in ours but only due to the fact we have altered interior.

TRAILlite build caravans, I know this as I rebuilt an insurance write off one way back in 2008, was about a 7.5m and only a few months old at the time, nice caravan but you would be shocked at the construction.

Camper vans were invented so that people could wear out perfectly good cars dragging bl**dy awful lightweight plastic cabins around behind them.

I like camper vans - use a light truck to do a light truck's job.

Pretending you're a truckie is all part of the fun.
