Ppsssttt post #10 (o:
an expensive to Service one, but they did change the brake fluid, dot?

a.woodrow, Jan 20, 9:11am
Thanks missed that :) OP got ripped sadly. They use special VAG brake fluid (of course) but it's only about $23+ for a tin from memory. Pretty sure oil filter and sump plug are less than $50 genuine, $100 for 5l of longlife oil and 2 hours labour max. That's a dealer service with dealer pricing. I would expect a bill just shy of $400. Would love to see the full breakdown of parts and labour if OP is prepared to post it.

Yellow wipers on a Passat, just wouldn't look right, red ones would be OK though, but orange even better.
As for Super Flash, check out Mario (o:

$163 for my BMW set. Repco don't have the type.

wind.turbine, Jan 20, 8:38pm
got my 3.2 triton going in for a 200,000km service at mitsi today, they have quoted about $600-800 for full fluids change

saxman99, Jan 20, 9:38pm
There's the issue.

carclan, Jan 20, 9:58pm
The blades (aero type) for my Mercedes Benz were $145.00 inc GST for a pair. The Bosch ones on ebay sell for $62.00 including shipping.

carclan, Jan 21, 5:03am
That is correct, the car originally had this type but were changed due to judder when the the vehicle was only a few years old. The conventional type was about $170 each, I have just changed back to the aero type and is much better

You don't need a fuel additive, that's just something they are upselling. I see the prices I gave were pretty much bang on, they spent far too long in labour though, was there something else they were looking at? Maybe that was the "engine analyser" charge? because if not I would be questioning that charge. Also I would be asking what the fluid charge was for when they charged separately for washer fluid. Your service has been padded out with a lot of unnecessary stuff, even for a dealership.

The OEM part is produced by Valeo. You'll find that the Tridon Flexblades bear a remarkable resemblance. Part numbers for the A1 are TFB26TLN & TFB16TLN. Around $42 each from Supercheap with $3 fitting charge (it's easy). Possibly cheaper from BNT.

Wind shield fluid $15.18 bloody hell. Paying for the dolly bird behind the front desk

a.woodrow, Jan 21, 8:19am
Low foaming VAG washer fluid that doesn't block the jets

shakespeare6, Jan 21, 9:21am
Water works just fine for me. And when the Jets block a bit of mig wire sorts that out.

a.woodrow, Jan 21, 9:59am
They have a fine mesh in them, not like older style jets that you could clean out with mig wire

why computer test ?
