The steel cable is the one that pulls the buckle downwards in the event of an accident. Some one may sit on it when entering? Wow got to be a rather large person (aka fatbum) entering the car at a rather awkward angle to sit on the buckle & bend & fatigue the cable. those americans must be large!

Yeah, find a tiny problem with a imported car. Issue huge recall notice and makes millions of dollars for unemployed workers to fix this problem.
