it has a gdi engine ,is it a viable repair or just scrap it ,its in very tidy condition and would be sad to wreck it but open to sugestions

white/grey smoke its a really flash looking 8 seater and a shame to wreck it but hey its a gdi and maybe not ethicle to rebuild

Not worth spending alot of money on it, trade it in or scrap it, use it untill it fails a warrant.

Need more information. Manual/automatic? How many K's? Did the smoke start suddenly or slowly getting worse? How long have you owned it (K's?)? Heaps of smoke when you put your foot down at the bottom of a hill? Heaps when you start it cold then not so bad?

they do not tolerate overheating, at all, first time they show as too hot you have weakened the rings

how keen on u too fix it ? ive have a 4g94 2000 gallant engine that has bein run one 91 and gumed up sumthing but good 140 k short block still starts idles wont run over three grand tho

mitsi grandis and gdi engines are notorious for smokey rings. Don't bother fixing just maintain what you've got till it blow its last puff.

could put new rings straight in if you do it yourself cost you headgasket etc be good for another 80,000km maybe

what does the smoke smell like ? and do you have a fluid dipstick on the automatic transmission on that vehicle? mesure fluid with engine running on automatics
