I need to get a registration for my car. Are you able to get a registration if your car fails a wof and the garage gives you the temporary wof (the one where you need to fix things withing 30 days?)

No such thing as a temporary WOF. Once its expired - its expired.

sorry no such thing as a temp wof. If you fail a wof then you have 28 days( I think) to get the items fixed and car to go back for a recheck without having to incur a new wof inspection . Legally as soon as your car fails its wof it is not legal for the road and is considered as 'not having a current wof' regardless of the date on the sticker. You need a wof before you can get a registration .

You can get a vehicle registered after it passes entry certification and fees are paid.

You may be confusing registration with vehicle licensing, which is usually done every year. Current (not legitimate) process requires a current wof to get relicensed.
