just before the intersection of west coast road and great north road there is a road on the right side that will take you over to Portage Road, then down portage to block house bay road and then Hillsborough road and then into onehunga. did this way many years ago but have forgotten the name of this shortcut road - does anyone know it please? My granddaughter lives in glen eden and has got a new job in Onehunga thought this route would save her some time and petrol money

Thanks so much -Frodo yes I am sure that is the one - its 24 1/2 years since I last drove that way . I think she is going through Mount Roskill - not as direct as this route. anything to save time and the dollars.I will tell her - I am sure she will be pleased about that. Why don't you hop on the western motorway at Maioro st New windsor straight through to Onehunga with off ramps at Hillsborough.

There is also an on ramp at Mt Roskill. 5 mins to Hillsborough.
