Seatbelts

Does anyone know what year seatbelts were brought in. I have a truck (1967) that has not had seatbelts in it and has always passed warrants but not had one for the last 10 years, just wondering if I will be made to get seatbelts in it to get it up to modern standards when it eventually gets one

I think if it didn't have any when it was made you don't have to retro fit them. Due to the structure not having sufficient strength to be of any use. I'm sure your local warrant station would know for sure.

yeah, I will ask them after the weekend, thanks

Tare weight probably over 2000kg so as far as I can see they are not required. If someone can show this is incorrect well then I guess they are needed.

it probably has mounting points, most of the stuff around that era had . why don't you just fit some inertia reel belts from repco. might actually help you in an accident.

if any were fitted, they would have been lap belts only, i would have thought
