Seatbelts - Suzuki Vitara.

Less than 2 years old my Vitara is giving me a problem. It’s upsetting the wife!
Seriously, on two occasions in past week I have had to brake suddenly due to 1. another driver cutting in - and 2. indicating at a roundabout to turn left but carrying straight ahead.

Each time the wife had to act quickly by pushing hands against the dash.
Her belt did not tension at all. When yanking on it as the testers do it locks but not always. I cannot see any recalls so maybe that’s something to be aware of, however any comments would really be appreciated.

PS. I am using her Trademe a/c.

If the locking mechanism in the belt reel has failed it's going to be completely covered by warranty there fella, it's possible but unlikely that the reel may not be mounted correctly in the B pillar (the post between the front and back doors). I'm assuming it's not had any accident repairs to the LHS of the car in that time? Take it back to the agency for them to check. Not much else to say really.
