So one of my cars broke down. Pulled it apart cambelt idler was missing teeth and timing slipped about 30deg. Was just going to replace the idler throw belt back on drive it back home if it was ok replace belt ect Anyway I lined all my timing marks up and being a rangi I am with limited tools on the side of the road I put some vice grips on the the two cam pullys top and bottom to lock them in place. Anyway I took belt off and idler out shut bonnet and my vice grips popped off the left hand side cam pullys and cams moved quite a bit this is the twincam vvt type. anyone know the procedure for setting this back up?
