Pathfinder use a cvt 2.5t towing. Also a towbar on a outlander creates a problem. The installation and wiring straight forward however it will have a removable tongue because you cannot lower the tailgate with a towbar in place. You can lift the hatch but not drop the tailgate.

Thanks everyone for the input, Its been great to read as Im flat tack on the farm and not had a chance to get out to town and even look at one. Its most likely going to rest on being able to fit a newborn, a toddler and skinny teen across the car. Leaving room in the back for bags and prams and crap. Fingers crossed, we may even look at replacing carseat with a slimline one if we really want to push ahead with it.
