Ferrari 365 Daytona Torched

sleuth, Nov 8, 4:52am
What sort of lowlife would torch a car such as this. I can see why someone would pinch it for a drive but to burn it is beyond belief. Obviously no appreciation for classic motor vehicles or the many hours of hard work restoring this one.

I wonder if it was done for joyrides or insurance fraud?

mm12345, Nov 10, 6:50am
Insurance fraud might be a good guess. A quick google tells me that at most it's worth half (or less) than what's suggested as the "value" of that car.

trogedon, Nov 10, 7:46am
Pretty sick thing to do just for $. "They didn't know what they were torching." ?! Ah huh. The Ferrari badge would be enough of a clue.

kiwitrader43, Nov 10, 11:37pm
Sounds like a joyride by the owner or panel shop damaged the engine.
Solution, cook the car.
I would strip the engine and check for damage before paying out a dime.
Something smells here.
A paint job doesn't make an old daytona worth millions.

It does if rob_man does it ;-)
