Last NZ assembled Galant was the 1997 VR V6, in 1998 they sold the Jap assembled V6-24 that was originally intended for the UK market, complete with mph gauge clusters for the early 98 models until they sorted out km/h clusters.

guess i remembered wrong! In 1999 we wound up in Porirua on a polytech field trip and there was a display of the last galant nz assembled, altho thinking back I'm not sure about the model year it was
