Why are all the good buys in Canturbury / Christch

Why are all the good buys - motor bikes / cars seem to be in Canturbury / Christchurch region. Is it just me, or anyone else find this?

Same, been looking at buying a classic or a cruiser. seen some good buys in the south island. Also keeping an eye out for a late 90s falcon panelvan / ute. Same thing. all the really good buys, South Island. Almost tempted to fly down and ride / drive something back.

Try buying at V8 manual in the SI - about 75% more
listed in NI - working alongside the about 75% more population
in the NI.

I'm in Christchurch and always think the good cars are in Auckland. And if there is something both here an in Auckland then the Auckland one is vastly cheaper and probably better.

Lots of old 70’s classics down Otago Southland way. I was told years ago it was because all the young guys working at the freezing works back then at Mataura had nothing else to spend there money on.
Use to drive a B train down to Invercargill regularly & was always amazed the amount of classics down there.
