Real shame the torana tt36 was never a production car.
Holden Torana Concept https://youtu.be/fXcVp_I0Siohttps://www.whichcar.com.au/features/australias-best-concepts-2004-holden-torana-tt36 The article states 3.6 litre V6 twin turbo and V8s, rear wheel drive. I wonder what a practical drivetrain might have been to keep the production cost down and the performance up (GM owned SAAB and licensed VM motori diesel tech at the time) SAAB 4 cylinder turbo petrol engine, quaife tricky front diff with HiPer Strut front suspension. Haldex 4wd drive version, a chunky US fwd auto trans. ?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki- /GM_4T80_transmission

There was also the GTR-X from around 1970, which was a concept based on the Torana. Less exotic, and could almost have been a practical car. Good ole 186 engine from the XU1 etc.
I remember seeing a Holden sports car at the Auckland Easter show in the early 1970's. Pity it did not go into production. There was also talk of a V8 LJ Torana but it did not go into production either.

Thanks for that - I was thinking that the Hurricane was supposed to be a 186, but I was getting it confused with this one. Loved the lights in the Hurricane.
