Different psyche to the western world. If his boss do it there is no way out for him/her they are honour bound.

I walked to work in a snowstorm once, & I was the only person who turned up for work that day.
Did I get any credit for that? No.

I bought a bulldozer from the far north of Japan last year and got it delivered to my house which was about 1100km away.
Took him about 18hours one way.
He dropped the bulldozer off, took a few photos and headed straight back home. He also brought his wife along for the ride as she had never been to that part of the country.
Sitting in a truck for that long with your wife is true dedication!

How long do you think an activity like this would happen for in a western country - nz, aus, us , canada before the worksafe, osha and other safety nanas would turn up?

Been going on for 100 of years in Japan.
