this engine has a sludge issue most probably. what you say by ignoring this sludge issue. is like in 10 years guy asks i got smoke come from my electric car, and then the people post you have to charge the car. as comments

You might find it turbo easy to whip off the head and the sump, undo the con-rods, slide the pistons out, put a rag over the crankshaft, give the cylinders a hone, wipe everything down nice and clean and put in some new piston rings onto the pistons (check the end gap in the bores first).
You would also replace the vale stem seals and lap in the valve seats at the same time.
We used to do that sort of thing when we were around that age, so no reason your child shouldn't be able to do it either.
I would put the pistons and rings in dry, or maybe just a smear of oil on the piston skirts to help the rings bed in better.
Would be a fun project and a good learning experience. There are probably heaps of youtube videos on it.
