NGK plug question,

muzz67, Oct 2, 10:14pm
Went to get some NGK BKR5E-11 plugs, was given BKR5E"S"-11 instead.
Does the S make any difference? They appear identical dimensionally.
For an old Courier farm truck.
Cheers.

DONT take my word as gospel but I thought there was an extra built in suppressor or resistor in the S

The letter ā€œSā€ indicates a copper center core

As above, CC plugs. Your engine isn't going to care about it.

Can you even get an NGK plug without a copper core? The ES is a standard plug, the E is V groove centre electrode. https://ngk-sparkplugs.co.th/product-knowledge/basic-knowledge/spark-plug-characteristics/

There ya go I learned something--I was darn sure the S was suppressor in NGK code

gph1961, Oct 4, 6:52am
E=1.5 mm CE(V-groove CE)
S=stand.2.5mm copper core CE

franc123, Oct 4, 7:15am
No that is covered by the R earlier in the code, R being resistor.
