snow tyres should be illegal on newly imported cars.if people want to fit them for snow then let them change to them.snow tyres should be a fail on any car getting a warrant from october to april.

Sorry to drag up an old thread rpvr. I'd be quite intersted to talk with you regarding this issue.
It would seem that theres a local stealer who is up to the old tricks that dealers used to get up to.Ie bringing in three of a make/model and swapping out parts to get compliance.

Kabanz is right, Nothing wrong with these cars at all. The more compliance then the more cost for everybody. If you want cars to be un afordable then keep on uping the compliance, the older cars will be on the road even longer. Nothing to do with safety of the car, these cars fall of the road because of the drivers, not many cars have brake failure nowdays. I have a vintage car that was imported and you drive it leaving a bigger gap behind the car in front because, they won't stop like a modern car. can't complain about the car.

What is an 'approved' brand!
Surely there is no such thing.

kazbanz, Dec 4, 2:01am
Yes there is but he used the wrong word. They must be a STANDARDSaproved pad.

LTNZ have a list of `approved` brands that can remain fitted providing they are within minimum wear limits as required by them (ltnz). It is taken that these brands do meet appropriate standards.
