308 into a VL Commodore

Yep, as above. VN V8 x-member, Commodore sump & pickup then whatever box you want behind it. TH350 if you want an auto (& have a late model 308) or T5 will suffice. My T5 took a punishing with 450hp AND nitrous. 3rd gear burnouts at burnout comps, never broke!
You should get a sump & pickup for around 150-200, x-member 100-200,.
Not hard to get 400hp out of a 308 with a basic rebuild & cam, compression, intake/carb upgrade.

May bolt straight in but is wider than the VC diff.

I have an '83 308 blue motor about to come out of a WB Statesman plus I have a VN V8 x-member (3 actually) hanging on the wall.
The later 308's have the chev bellhousing pattern so can run ANY chev trans (Glide, TH350, TH400, TH700R4 etc) or g/box (T5, Saginaw, T56, Tremec etc)
