Mate's RVR AWD having "clunk" noise on left front wheel, the frequency of which increases with speed. At first we thought it could be a stone stuck in tire thread hitting the pavement as wheel turns but could not find any.
Then he noticed that it tends to go away after driving fast and would only comeback after reversing the car.
Any ideas on what's causing the problem!

perhaps wheel bearing or CV joint - I would even look at the brake pads too.

CV as phil said above, is very common on awd rvr and chariots - Easy fix but will cost about $200 in a garage
Other wise could be something to do with brakes and something being loose - in which case cost next to nothing other than free brake check at midas etc .
Happy Xmas
