A smart professional thief (and yes a small number do exist) will be able to bypass any sort of alarm system and will most likely have a gps blocker already in their 'kit'. Your average run of the mill thief who has stolen your car for parts/joyride/bag of P does not worry about gps blockers and such. If they caught, they don't care, wet bus tickets aren't scary.

They are generally easier than an alarm to install, depending on how many "alarm" type features they have.The major difference being they have two antennae, one for the gps reception and one for the cell reception
