I have noticed several police cars around chch and ashburton this week with there red and blue lights covered does anyone know why .

normally in getting a service and the mechanic is not allowed to impersonate a police officer in anyway so if you have a look normally written on the cover (in aucks at least) not in service

gawd, it reminds me of the VN/VP commodores. I was an apprentice panel-beater, and yep, we had a "uniform" that had a light blue shirt. i was driving a police car (rear window was out, rust done) down to the a painter about 1km away, when a 3 car intersection accident happened in front of me. All hell broke loose, and man, they werent happy when i pointed out that i wasnt a cop, merely driving a police car.
