It will be much easier if you tell us what year the car is, whether it's carburetted, EFi, or diesel.

Those later model Familia's didn't have external fuel filters, neither did the Ford Lasers of the 2000-2002 era, it has an intank filter that is not normally serviced.If it was going to be anywhere it would be on the passenger side of the firewall about halfway up.
