Chev 6.2 diesel Landrover

Was wondering about converting it to a petrol, i.e a 5.3 vortec or a 305/350SB chev or as I have a 308 lying around(turbo pattern) to use this! Would the fuel consumption just be horrid! The diesel is fairly good on fuel for what it is(11-13l/100km) just a bit noisy and smelly, and grumpy on cold starts.Landrover probably wouldn't do anymore than say 8-10 thousand km's a year

Yes with the lowgearing fuel consumption will be vervy bad.

What series landy!. up to series 3'they had low diff ration of 4.7-1. the later series 3 V8 anddesiel had a higher ratio 3.9-1. changing the final drive ratio may help abit for fuel economy as well.I changeda old series 3 SWB i had with 186. was dream to drive and good on gas.Personly i would go small block chev ( parts a cheaper) or 308 if you already have a motor.( forward specs in henderson could help with bellhousing adaptor.

It's a land rover 110-forward specs did the 3.5v8-6.2 diesel way back in '95 it has 3.54 diffs and a 1.22 high range ratio 100kph is almost 2400rpm,dunno if a 305/308 would be happy with this gearing!
