Cylinder head retaining bolts

how many ofyou renew the bolts after servicing the cyl head !
esp the pre torque and stretch ( tighten to specific angle )

head bolts new all the time or it be a waste of time . that is of course if the bolts ar as per above on post 2 .others some dont need changing usually it studs like in post 3

example toyota 3s-fe new bolts or you waste your time . cheapest is partsmaster for new bolts and headgasket supercheap auto. to name one example. Yanmar 1gm-10 only torque the nuts on studs dont replace them. another example.

I didn't think the 3sfe manual specified replacement! I know the 3sge doesn't, they actually don't go past any kind of elastic stretch that I've found. Re-used lots, never an issue.

Also you don't retorque torque to angle bolts or torque to yield or whatever you want to call it

i dont risk it if it tells me on the gasket to turn 90 degree the bolt then i get new bolts only cost 60$ for new ones . monotorque or what ever they call the gasket dont want 1 bolt snapped and then having to do the whole thing plus remove a roken bolt.
