Mitsubishi Starter Motors Help Please

Hi, I have a Mitsy Galant 1990 and my Dad has on hand a Misty L300 starter motor. What I would like to know is:Will his starter motor fit my misty or should I go to the wreckers for another!Thanks for any help you can give me.

Forgot to mention that the L300 is a 1989 delica starwagon van, just want to know if they are interchangeable or not.Thanks again.

Put them side by side and have a look.
Match up part numbers if possible.

If the L300 is the 2L petrol version, then its very possible.

Thank you Jason, part numbers are bit awkward as the starter is still in my mitsy and its between the twin carbs.Yes the van was a 2L Petrol.

Yes every day and then several timesWe give it a belt to get it working.

You are going to have to remove it anyway if its stuffed.
Probably better to repair your one rather than replace it with another 2nd hand one.
Most likely just needs new brushes/contacts which isn't a hard job.
Google how to do it, buy the parts from an auto sparky and rebuild the one from your old mans L300 as practice.then sell it on TM to cover costs of fixing your one.

generally the starters are interchangeable up til around 1992 where they became quite specific for the engine type.
