Try this website www.altezzaclub.org.nz. Wasn't sure what to expect at first as I had heard about some car forums overrun by ricers etc but can say that there is a lot of information on this site. A good community too which is willing to share knowledge.

Geez,l really wish I hadnt started this thread. I just wanted some simple advice. I have also been doing some investigating and no mdiddyinthehous I am not an idiot, but a well meaning mum. My experience tells me that yes indeed you can break an Alteeza. in fact they can have a miriad of complaints. And I have had die hard fans raving about their reliablility. The way I see it she can have trouble and hurt herself with any car she buys.I was only concerned that it was known as a car that generally was pre-owned by boy racery types thats all.

Very interesting papariccardo, I've never heard of that car before. It does look like an Altezza, especially the grill but it must be quite different having a V6 engine. It's name reminds me of the Toyota Mk II.

I'd go for the similar Lexus IS200 over the Altezza, it is that bit classier and would possibly have been looked after better. The Altezza has a boyracer image, some are white with yob mags, I'd buy a dark green or metallic silver Lexus instead.

I understand what you're saying. I see plenty of middle aged people driving them too. Just make sure she buys one that hasn't been modified, (wheels, lowered, pod air filter etc) signs it may have been owned by someone young or young at heart ;)
