my daughter brought a 1991 mazda eunos out of the buy sell exchange. it immediately started overheating on short drives. her brother put in a new thermostat and new raditor cap but it continues to overheat. it is leaking water but we don't know where it is coming out of. questions where in christchurch would be a good place to have it looked at! my daughter is a student so money is tight wondering if the repair may be more than the car is worth! car runs smoothly not running rough just overheats chronically she didn't get it checked out before she brought it as it was shiny and green and had a "mint" stereo .she is 21

Go and see a radiator specialist, they will check for the leak, test the fans etc,it may be the radiator has probably never been removed and cleaned properly in its entire life, it may also be at the point where the tanks on it might need replacing, or the whole thing replaced.And then hope that no cylinder head/gasket damage has occured, Mazdas generally are very intolerant of overheating.You will get a prepurchase inspection next time won't you!You have found out why it was for sale, hopefully it won't end up being a costly lesson.Stereos and paintwork are the least of your worries.

she brought it from a guy called mohammed and his friend who were very keen to do the sale and deliver car for her and who keeps texting her asking her "what you doin tonight!" he claimed to not know there was anything wrong with the car when she texted him to tell him about the problem .
