98 VT commodore berlina. key doesnt unlock door (which i dont really care for) but the remote unlocks everything, except driver door. it unlocks it most of the way but not enough to get the door open, ive opened the door panel and had a look for a bent rod or worn bush but it all seems to be in good order. could the central locking mechanism be on the blink!

the central lock motors are a common fault a auto sparky can get you a o.e one at a cheaper price than a dealership.

often when the motors in the central locking get worn they will work ok in one direction but not the other. we got some for our toyota at about $20 each.

Make sure their is power to the solenoid. Wires going to the door through the rubber boot often break.
