Have a look at the possibility of changing the seats in the Santa - Fe or other vehicle.
Seat designs from Asia can be not best suited to NZ ergonomic requirements.
A range of aftermarket seats are available in NZ.

honestly if all your worried about is the headrest then get a head rest cushion made up at a local upholsterer from leather or vynal. headrest arent supposed to rest on your head anyway.

I have just traded a 2008 Land Rover Freelander 2 for a Tiguan. I hate to disappoint you Jazz but the new Tiguans are only a six speed triptronic, regardless they are a great drive. The freelander 2 is also a very capable. It is a bit bigger and feels they little bit more confident when off the tarmac. We are farming and the Freelander seamed to have a bit more ground clearance when driving across paddocks or on farm tracks. The tiguan is more technical and has a few more feature. Overall both have been great and a pleasure to own

Is yours brand new!
I know you could get them with a 6 speed but I thought all new ones were 7 speed DSG!. Perhaps the 6 speed comes with a certain engine and 2WD or 4WD combination. I would be curious to know.

Thanks for raising the point.

Just did a wee google. not sure whats going on with those to be honest. Last I read the DSG was being phased in like in this australian article:
http://www.carsales.com.au/news/2010/small-4x4/volkswagen/tiguan/tiguan-scores-dsg-selfshifter-across-2011-range-21520

Yet the VW NZ site still only mentions the regular 6 speed auto like yours. yet confusingly there have been plenty of DSG 7 speed Tiguans for sale new on trademe.

Who knows! Either way clearly the OP can buy a DSG one if they want. Thanks again for the heads up, you learn something new, or at least get confused every day!

No 7 speed DSG available in the new Tiguan(MY12)VW NZ are hopeful it may become available by Q3. Issue with supply chain ex Japan. Also no factory reversing camera or TV available across whole VAG range until further notice.
and yes mine was brand new, 4 month wait ex factory for spec that I ordered. Interestly the wait ex factory for the Tourag was 9 months at the time I ordered .

Suzuki! That would be a nice drive to the hero parade, get a Territory, great vehicle, well specked, good size, tons of room. Depending on how you drive can be thirsty, I get 11.1 on a trip out of mine.

Cheers, good to know thanks.
