Diesel vehicle odometer

does anyone know if it is illegal to have a switch fitted to an electric odometer.
as far as im aware by law you dont even need a working odometer so long as the speedo still works!
i do 50-80km a week on private property and feel this mileage should not count toward RUCs
can anyone in the industry correct me or give me some more information

I don't think you are allowed to tamper with odometers at any time on diesel vehicles. Any mileage you do off road, you have to record and claim back, but don't quote me on this.
If you do fit a switch, make sure it's bloody well hidden, or if it isn't, put a bullshit label next to it, like 'foglights' or something.

Illegal as if you are caught on the road with it.
Don't steal, the government hates competition.
