Really depends on the weight, trying to remember think it is 4 or 4.5 then you need an ht. So don'tput too much weight in it.

be wary, we had a similar truck at a company I worked for & we were told it could be driven on a car license until one guy got stopped with a load while shifting house over a weekend & cop put it over a weighbridge & ticketed him. Turns out I was the lucky one to work out the weight allowed so loaded up with pallets & headed to the same weighbridge. limit turned out to be 2 empty pallets, 3 put it over. That was some time ago & rules may have changed BUT it is worth checking out

I'm not 100% on this but I think the regs may have just changed so that you can drive a vehicle with a GVM of 6000kg as long as the actual on-road weight is under 4500kg. In saying that, it may be worthwhile getting a class 2 anyways.

Yes, that applies to motorhomes and tradesperson's vehicle on a Class 1 licence. But a "tradesperson's vehicle means a motor vehicle whose body is designed or adapted for use principally by tradespersons to carry special purpose trade equipment or trade goods (excluding general freight)".
