I don't understand have never found it a problem [ touch wood .lol. ] have owned on and off since the 1970's chain and belts,belts from the 80's on have only broken one belt.I JUST RUN THEM A BIT SLACKER never had a problem and i'm on gravel all the time.AND i have never replaced pulley,i do big miles too,have done over 30000 miles [ 50000 k's ] on the Fat Bob .hope i haven't tempted fate now .lol

Any info on numbers of broken belts at Easter! And were they the result of being overtensioned!
