Heard today that there will probably be a regular support class of TransAms/GTs (V8s) running to a fairly basic set of rules.That is what we want to see.

It looks as though Pukekohe may be getting a new lease of life, (Government funding!)but will the local noise controls put the kybosh on it!

Love any v8 motorsport, but don't think aussie v8 supercar drivers should be allowed in our supertour event, must be disheartning being a new zealand driver who won't make the cut in aussie v8s have to watch the back of an aussie supercar driver fade away in front

At Ruapuna, some cars had the bonnet vents and other cars did not. If there are already external differences for the STs, what are the differences already under the skins !

Nothing,they all use the same Chassis,engine ,box, Diff, and tyres.They even draw ballots for their ECU so no one has an advantage.They may set them up a little different,but they are faily limited.

Which is why the series wont last, it needs to be manufacturer vs manufacturer, not driver vs driver/ The cream will come to the top any way. Why have fords with chev motors! surely it would make ( and sound ) better to have two manufactures useing their own engines! as in some races the chev or the ford make power in different rev range or torque curves surely resulting in more exciting racing. VERY disappointed.

It's all to do with the cost factor.eg:- a S/C engine alone can cost $100.000 + where as a ST is only $20.000 and built to last for 10000 racing klm.

Here we go again.The curse of so called "level playing field" motorsport.Round 2 and they are pinging people already for a "non-performance enhancing, non-modification"!

Locally, the only one make formula that survived more than a few seasons is Mini Sevens.

The one engine formula to survive is Formula Fords (41st year).

Longest surviving non one/two make must be pre 65s (discounting Historic F5000 and Formula Junior).

What does that tell you about the long term viability of one make formulae!

OK, BUT, what is the point in having a ford / holden race when they are running the same engines/ drive chains ! may as well race fiat multiplas aroundto see which driver is better!, and probably sound better than the chev.
